Solid Waste collections prioritize trash pick-up

12

Recycling and yard debris pick-up anticipated to resume regular schedule next week

The City of St. Augustine’s Solid Waste Division has been working tirelessly to catch up on missed collections throughout the city.  In order to keep trash collection as the priority, it has been necessary to skip yard debris and recycling in the past few weeks.

City Utilities Director Todd Grant said, “We completely understand everyone’s frustration, and our crews are working as hard and as fast as they can.   We truly appreciate everyone’s patience while we catch up on our collections.”

City crews were finishing trash collection from Tuesday's routes on Wednesday morning, and then continued immediately with yard debris collection.  It is anticipated that not all yard debris will be collected by the end of the day, Wednesday, May 18; however, in the event yard debris was not collected, customers can anticipate that it will be collected next Wednesday.

Every effort is being made to collect recycling on its regular scheduled days, Thursday and Friday, this week.
