Flagler County welcomes residents into the ‘pages’ of digital magazine Coast to Country

21

May 6, 2022 – Flagler County on Friday released the second quarter issue of its new magazine “Coast to Country” that provides information about all local governmental entities. The simplicity for viewers is that the link www.flaglercounty.gov/coasttocountry will always take them to the current digital flipbook, with the archive located below.

“It is important for all our elected officials to have a voice in one forum to reach our visitors and residents,” said County Administrator Heidi Petito. “One of the goals of the magazine is for residents to better understand how all of Flagler County’s governmental entities are intertwined to represent our citizens to provide services.”

For example, Flagler Schools, UF|IFAS Flagler County Extension, and the Flagler County Fair and Youth Show organization work in coordination with one another to support agricultural education and youth agri-business. The Supervisor of Elections provides Flagler County students the opportunity to gain experience working on a real-world graphic design project with her “Voter's Guide Cover Design Contest.”

Toward the other end of the spectrum, Senior Services and Fire Rescue – through nothing short of dogged determination – worked together to provide an 89-year-old west side resident with a new manufactured home available through a 2018 Rebuild Florida grant because his home was devastated by Hurricane Irma.

Other features include an update on beach projects, a look at preventative measures recommended by the Florida Health Department-Flagler as part of National Water Safety Month and news provided by municipalities and Flagler’s constitutional officers.
