Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce: issued the following announcement on February 21.
The Flagler Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) have voted unanimously to table the increase of Flagler County School Impact Fees for a second time at this evening’s meeting. Previously, the County strongly encouraged the Flagler Home Builders Association and School Board/Flagler Schools to resolve their differences before returning back to the BOCC with a resolution and vote.
BOCC Chair Joe Mullins said, “We have been pushing and pushing on this. We need to take into consideration all factors, including impacts to businesses and the economy.”
The Chamber will continue to watch the latest developments on this issue, as significant impact fee increases and school concurrency mitigation could negatively impact the construction industry/jobs and increase the cost/price of housing.
The Chamber is also becoming more engaged with Flagler Schools issues, as the business community gets the end result of our local education system.
