Jared Rice will provide an Update on TPC 2023, its impact upon the economy and the charities the tournament affects! The tournament, March 7-12, 2023, attracts golfers and fans from around the world and showcases our community.
Jared Rice is currently the Executive Director for THE PLAYERS Championship as well as the Senior Vice President of Tournament Revenue at the PGA TOUR.
In his role as Executive Director of THE PLAYERS, a position he has held since January 2017, Rice oversees all aspects of the PGA TOUR’s flagship event, from sales, marketing, and operations to community and charitable outreach and support. In addition, he leads THE PLAYERS Council, an association of corporate and community leaders who share THE PLAYERS’ commitment to economic growth and development. Rice joined THE PLAYERS team in 2010 and served as the championship’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Senior Director of National Sales, where he was instrumental in growing THE PLAYERS’ revenue in order to maximize its economic and charitable impact on the community. Over the past 40-plus years, THE PLAYERS has generated more than $100 million to support non-profit organizations in communities within the five-county area (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties). Prior to THE PLAYERS, Rice worked for four years in various roles at the PGA TOUR, including Business Development and Global Licensing. While in these positions, Jared oversaw the development of PGA TOUR Licensing programs worldwide and assisted with the sale of PGA TOUR Title Sponsorships and Official Marketing Partner Sponsorships.
A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Rice graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Sports Marketing and Business Administration. Before joining the PGA TOUR, Rice held various marketing roles with the Walt Disney Company during their ownership of the Anaheim Angels and Mighty Ducks as well as the Detroit Red Wings organization. Rice lives in Ponte Vedra Beach with his wife, Sheila, and their two sons, Brady and Nolan. He is actively involved in the Northeast Florida community, where he serves on the boards of Wolfson Children’s Hospital and JAX Chamber, and is also a member of the JAXUSA Policy Council.
