Flagler County’s unemployment rate declined to 3%, according to the September 2022 data release from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
“Flagler County’s unemployment rate remains low, and our workforce continues grow, at more than 51,000 residents, which is an all-time high,” said Greg Blosé, President & CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Looking back over the past year, Flagler County’s workforce has increased by more than 2,100 residents, and 2,595 more jobs now call Flagler County ‘home.’”
Blosé continued, “It’s encouraging that Flagler County’s economy continues to grow in the face of national recession news. Each month, we expect to see a negative economic/jobs impact because of rising inflation and interest rates, but it simply hasn’t materialized in Flagler County, yet. The Chamber still cautions business leaders to closely monitor economic conditions and how it relates to their business performance. However, the data is clear: as Flagler County’s population continues to grow, so to do the number of jobs and the size of our labor force.”
The number of Flagler County residents that are employed (either working in this county or another county) increased from 49,319 workers in August 2022 to 49,605 in September 2022, an increase of 286 residents.
The number of unemployed job-seeking residents in Flagler County declined to 1,531 in September 2022, a decrease of 77 residents from last month’s report.
The Flagler County labor force continues to grow, checking in with 51,136 in September 2022, an all-time high.
