School Board Spotlights: August 2022

On Tuesday night, August 16th, 2022, the School Board members signed a handful of proclamations for current and upcoming events.

First up was designating August 15–20, 2022 as Pedestrian and Cyclist Safety Week in Flagler County. They were joined by Flagler County Commissioner Andy Dance and Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly.

Amelia Fulmer joined the Board in commemorating September 11-17, 2022 as “Arts in Education Week.”

Board Members also signed a proclamation marking September 28, 2022, as “Dads Take Your Children to School Day.”

Finally, the Board issued proclamations declaring September as “Suicide Prevention Month” and “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.”

Following the proclamations, Board members used the Spotlight portion of the evening to congratulate the group of Flagler School educators for completing the Aspiring Leaders program through the North East Florida Educational Consortium. This is a 40-hour program designed for experienced educators who have shown leadership potential and are seeking the possibility of becoming school leaders.
