Help us celebrate #CityStAugSelfie day!

The City of St. Augustine, in cooperation with the Florida League of Cities and Engaging Local Government Leaders Network, is participating in City Hall Selfie Day on Monday, August 15, 2022. The day serves as an opportunity for residents to get involved with CityStAug and have some fun by taking a selfie in front of a municipal building or with staff, and then posting it with the hashtags #CityStAugSelfie, #CityStAug, and #CityHallSelfie, and tagging @FlCities, @ELGLNetwork, and @CityStAug.

In the past, the City of St. Augustine won two national awards for best pet and most historic. This year, the City is sharing the challenge with the community to participate in this national selfie competition, especially in the award categories of best community engagement, best selfie by a reporter, and best selfie by a community member.

“City staff has so much fun celebrating Selfie Day, and this year we are hoping to see some of our residents accept the challenge and join us.  After all, it’s the engagement from our residents that make fun activities like this so special,” said Melissa Wissel, Communications Director. “Anyone is invited to take a selfie in front of any of our buildings, with staff, or next to a City vehicle.”

The City Hall Selfie Day initiative was created to boost civic pride in municipal services and leadership.  Anyone can participate, with family members, pets, or friends.  Some people have been known to get creative and use props, wear silly hats, or matching clothes.
