At today’s workshop (4-12-22), the Palm Coast City Council heard an update from both city staff and attorney Trevor Arnold with GrayRobinson law firm regarding the Palm Coast Holland Park Splash Pad. In case you missed it, there were significant defects with the rubber protective ground barrier (and other issues) at the Holland Park Splash Pad (picture below). As a result, the City was forced to temporarily close down the water feature, which was wildly popular with residents and visitors alike.
The good news is city officials are addressing the issues surrounding repairing the Holland Park Splash Pad . The bad news is it’s expected to take weeks, if not months, to repair (worst-case scenario, replace) the popular water feature. The City Council is considering taking legal action against the installation contractor and design firm. Because today’s conversation was just a workshop, no vote was taken. However, future conversation will occur with the City Council in the near future.
The Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce will continue to provide updates on this local issue.
