Flagler County Boasts Lowest Unemployment Rate in Over a Decade

Flagler County’s unemployment rate plummeted another half-percent in March 2022, declining from 3.4% (February 2022) to 2.9%. This is the second consecutive month Flagler County’s unemployment rate improved by at least of 0.5% from the previous month, according to the latest data release from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

The number of Flagler County residents that are employed (either working in this county or another county) increased from 47,135 workers in February 2022 to 47,657 workers in March 2022, an increase of 522.

The number of unemployed job-seeking residents in Flagler County decreased from 1,683 in February 2022 to 1,447, a decline of 236 residents.

Greg Blosé, President & CEO of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce, says: “Flagler County is officially at full employment with an unemployment rate of 2.9%. The unemployment rate in Flagler County hasn’t been this low in over 15 years. This was an incredibly positive report for Flagler County. More than 500 residents found work last month, and 200 fewer residents are receiving unemployment benefits because they have found jobs.”

The Flagler County labor force grew slightly, eclipsing 49,000 residents to 49,104 in March 2022.
