Putnam County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Apeil 6.
There’s a new vision for Putnam Community Medical Center as it undergoes a name change and rebranding under its parent company HCA Healthcare.
The Palatka facility, 611 Zeagler Dr., will now be known as HCA Florida Putnam Hospital. The change took effect March 3rd, as more than 450 hospitals statewide united under the new HCA name.
“Our Florida colleagues and physicians have always been united in their commitment to serving our patients and caring like family. Over the past two years, we’ve come together in ways that better serve our communities and our colleagues, proving that our connectedness is our strength,” Chuck Hall, national group president at HCA Healthcare, said in a statement. “This transition reflects our mission and our commitment to all we serve as we continue to work together to deliver high-quality care for patients across the Sunshine State.”
Also getting a name change in Putnam County are the Putnam Surgical Associates, renamed HCA Florida Putnam Surgical Specialists, Palatka, and the Putnam Orthopedic Associates, now known as the HCA Florida Putnam Orthopedics, Palatka.
Other parent-company facilities have locations in Gainesville, Jacksonville and Ocala.
In addition to a new name, HCA officials said all scheduling can be done on its improved website, hcahealthcare.com, and a new Consult-a-Nurse service will begin in April to give patients across Florida 24/7 help to answer health questions.
The 99-bed facility has also undergone some recent staff changes, bringing in a new Chief Nursing Officer, Denise Duty-Troiano, in the Fall, and new CEO Brian Nunn will lead the hospital starting March 14.
He replaces former Putnam Community CEO Mark Dooley, who left at the end of September to move out of state, and the hospital had been overseen by the Chief Financial Officer Natalie Park during the interim.
“I am honored to join the HCA Healthcare North Florida Division and become CEO of Putnam Community Medical Center,” Nunn said in a statement last month. “I have heard wonderful stories of the caring team at the hospital who have a true heart for serving the community.”
