Flagler County Public Schools issued the following announcement on October 8.
Superintendent Cathy Mittelstadt is saddened to announce the passing of Jim Egan. Jim was hired in 2015 as a bus driver and he most recently drove the "Bat" bus, serving our students at Belle Terre Elementary School and Matanzas High School.
Those who worked with or were lucky enough to call him "friend" knew Jim would do everything he could to help. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
Flagler Schools asks our community to keep Jim's wife Sue and their family in your thoughts.
