St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 29.
Flagler College Lifelong Learning Courses Return to Campus
St. Augustine, Fla. ? The Flagler College Lifelong Learning program recently announced registration is open for the Lifelong Learning Fall A 2021 term. Classes begin the week of Aug. 31 and include music, language, writing, politics, healthy living, science, and decorating.
“We are excited to welcome lifelong learners back to campus,” Program Director Jorge Herrera said. “People are ready to reconnect with their friends, make new connections, and engage with the campus community.”
Instructor John Nolton returns with Counterintelligence 102, which critically evaluates the election process from a global perspective. Students can also express creativity by playing guitar, writing “micro stories,” or tackling home decorating. Other classes delve into the history and attraction of the Argentine Tango, get things moving with Tai Chi Chuan, slow things down with meditation, or explore renewable energy advances.
In addition, six Lifelong Learning courses are presented online via Zoom, including Spanish, French, and writing fiction or memoirs. The online course structure gained popularity with the COVID-19 lockdown, especially for out-of-town students.
“Because we began offering classes online last year, we have students throughout the United States,” Herrera said. “We even have students in England.”
Class sizes are limited, so register now.
