City of Augustine recently issued the following announcement.
Guest speaker opportunity: The City of St. Augustine is in the process of updating the current architectural design guidelines for historic preservation. The design guidelines are used to evaluate changes to historic buildings and new construction in historic districts, and demolitions throughout St. Augustine. This workshop will address basics of design guidelines documents, how they are used in the preservation process, and trends in guidelines as demonstrated by other communities. The non-profit National Alliance of Preservation Commissions will be leading this workshop on behalf of the City of St. Augustine Historic Preservation Division. Public surveys will also be distributed separately.
