The state of Florida is celebrating its 3rd annual Mobility Week from October 30 to November 6, 2020. Mobility Week encourages agencies, employers, and residents to organize an event or take a mobility action to bring attention to safe multimodal transportation options. However, this year there’s a twist- Mobility Week will kick off a month-long bike challenge! It's called the Love to Ride Florida challenge and it starts October 30.

To help unlock the many benefits of bicycling, Love to Ride has partnered with the organizers of Mobility Week to run a friendly competition to get more people riding bikes. Love to Ride Florida challenges individuals and workplaces to compete against others across the state to earn the most points by riding and encouraging others to do the same. It doesn’t matter if you ride every day or if you haven’t been on a bike in years. Everyone is invited to take part and help get more people on bikes.

Love to Ride Florida - The Facts!

Love to Ride Florida is a Workplace Cycle Challenge, a model that has engaged more than 517,000 people worldwide

You can take part as an individual, with your workplace and/or with a social group!

Individuals and their workplaces will compete on state-wide leader boards to see who can earn the most points in 7 size categories

Points are earned for every mile and day you ride plus every person you encourage

Points mean prizes! The more points you earn, the more entries you gain into the prize draws.

You could win bikes, gift cards, gear, and lots of other great prizes - plus if you encourage other people at your workplace to sign up, you can climb the leader boards and earn serious bragging rights, and maybe even prizes!

Why participate?

Participating in the Love to Ride Florida challenge is a great way to motivate yourself and others to ride a bike more often. As an individual, for your workplace, and for our planet, riding helps to…

make us happier and healthier

more energetic and productive

save us money, and our organization's money too - through fewer sick days, lower car parking costs, and increased productivity

reduce traffic in urban areas

Workplaces that take part in Love to Ride Florida will benefit from:

an easy-to-run team building and staff engagement program

support for your organization’s sustainability goals

prizes and incentives to appeal to new and regular riders alike

Measure the collective impact your organization is having through bicycling. Track and measure stats across the organization and see how much CO2 and calories you save in the month-long challenge.

You can take part in the Love to Ride Florida challenge by following 3 easy steps:

Join or register your workplace

.Log rides manually between October 30 and November 30, or connect your favorite bicycling app (Strava, MapMyRide, or Endomondo). Your rides will be recorded automatically and will sync your last 30 days of riding!

Love to Ride enables members to set goals, track distance, earn badges, share photos and stories, and encourage others to ride, as well as allows workplaces to incentivize their staff to ride and monitor bicycling participation at their offices.

The aim of the Love to Ride Florida challenge is to help more people enjoy the fun and freedom of bicycling and access the support they need to ride for transportation.
