Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on October 4.

Interim no more. The Flagler County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) voted to appoint Heidi Petito as the permanent Flagler County Administrator via a 5-0 vote today at their County Commission meeting. Mrs. Petito has been serving in the “Interim” role since the retirement of Jerry Cameron (the previous County Administrator).

Commissioner Greg Hansen took the lead in making the motion to appoint Mrs. Petito to the full-time role, seconded by Commissioner Mullins. “I think we’ve gone through a pretty long interview process,” said County Commission Chair Donald O’Brien.

The motion also stated that a revised contract would be negotiated, which would appear in a public hearing before the BOCC at a future meeting.
