Jacksonville, Fla., March 14, 2023 – Freedom Boat Club Jacksonville co-owner Lisa Almeida presented a check for $9,000 to Captain Sandy Yawn for Captain Sandy’s Charities. The donation was a match from the employee Christmas pool. Each year, the executive team for FBC Jacksonville collects donations from members for its dock staff and then matches the collection which is given to the staff as a holiday bonus. In addition to matching the donation for staff, the company also matched the donation with a gift to charity.

“Our members are so generous and appreciative of our staff and we wanted to pay it forward by also donating to a worthy cause, like Captain Sandy’s Charities,” said Almeida. “We have partnered with Captain Sandy in the past and the work she does for the maritime world is amazing. We hope this donation will help her continue her mission to help people who need it most.”
