City of Crescent issued the following announcement on September 17.

Mr. Rudd has been a redevelopment professional for 24 years, serving Cities, Community Redevelopment Agencies, and Main Street Organizations.  He is a Certified Redevelopment Administrator by the Florida Redevelopment Association, has served Redevelopment Agencies in multiple Florida communities and has been a speaker at the Florida Redevelopment Conference.  His Main Street experience includes National Certification as a Downtown Manager by the National Main Street Center of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and serving as a Main Street Manager for small town and urban programs as well as a Board member and advisor for small town programs.  He has also been a speaker at multiple State and National Main Street Conferences.  He has served on the Board of Directors of The Lake Eustis Area Chamber of Commerce and the Maitland Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Florida City/County Manager’s Association and the International City Manager’s Association.

Mr. Rudd previously served as the Economic Development Director for the City of New Port Richey.  In New Port Richey, he directed the development of the US Hwy 19 and Downtown Master Plans as well as the Marketing and Public Relations Master Plan which included a new City and downtown brand.  Prior to coming to New Port Richey, he was the Economic Development Manager and CRA Manager for the City of Maitland.  In Maitland, he directed an update to the Master Plan/Redevelopment Plan to create a downtown for Maitland.  He also directed the development of a Branding and Marketing Plan, a Downtown Streetscape Plan and a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.  Prior to his time in Maitland, Mr. Rudd directed the creation of a Branding and Marketing Plan for the City of Palatka and a Downtown Vision and Master Plan for the City of Groveland.

Mr. Rudd has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida, a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Florida State University and is a Certified Public Manager.

He enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, mountain biking, kayaking, gardening and he is a certified white water rafting guide.  He also enjoys travel and flies to Brazil each year to visit his wife Valeria’s family.  He has a son, two daughters, and two granddaughters.
